Since Joe Horn, Philadephia, and Stephen Davis have all had terrible fantasy days it's not at all difficult for me to return to the website that never lets me down.

I attended my third different church this morning looking for the one that I feel drawn to as a Pittsburgh home. In Nashville it only took two tries to find a great church, but there is far more diversity here. I don't mean cultural diversity, though that may be true, I mean the number of different churches. There are 157 churches in the Pittsburgh Presbytery. I won't get into the reasons why the ones I've attended weren't fufilling, only that I'm still searching. I'm comforted by the 3 chapel services per week here on campus, but I would still like to find a faith community outside these walls with which I can become involved.

Driving the hills in the city feels like skiing on the bunny slope. (Someplaces are a black diamond, but this area is mostly gentle.) The grade gives you just enough acceleration that you get up to the speed limit and maintain it, it's very relaxing. Then you have to go back up again. I bought gas at half a tank becuase I found it for $2.80 and when I computed the mileage I'm down to 14. This is with a new fuel system giving me 20 highway, plus I never run the A/C. Unless I'm getting siphoned, the hills are really using gas. You know that's another thing to refute the perfect circle of life hypothesis from spirtual formation. In a perfect world the gas you save by coasting down a hill would be exactly equal to the gas expended going up as if you were travelling on a flat surface of equal length. Well the kinetic and potential energies would have to equal, but with drag and friction and non-synthetic oil in my 15 year old engine I suppose the equation won't balance or favor me. Maybe if I shut off the engine on the down hill slopes? Well then I'd lose my power steering and switchbacks go hand in hand with steep grades. Some one needs to comment on this post and tell me to quit worrying about conservation of energy or else find me a verse in the Bible that makes it important.

Back to reading, and hoping Drew Brees finds Antonio Gates in the endzone 4 times tonight.
